The ecological emergency is crying out for us to rid ourselves of naturalism. But how? Through dance, says Emma Bigé, non-human dance movements that make us rethink what moves us. This will allow us to experience something that does not belong to us, and to connect with it intimately and collectively.
This highly original philosophical proposal connects a very fashionable theoretical world (from Latour and Descola to Donna Haraway) to bodily practices that allow us to embody it and draw sensations from it.
Emma Bigé digs, writes, translates and improvises with contemporary experimental dances and trans*feminist philosophies. She is an associate professor, a Doctor of Philosophy, a dancer and a curator, and teaches epistemology in art schools. The rest of the time, she lives on the edge of a forest and, whenever she gets the chance, she rolls on the ground.
