What types of revolutions and wars has Vietnam gone through during the 20th century? What were the possible paths available to a country that has been violently colonized and decolonized? What were the sources of inspiration and the various solutions to obtain independance and reunification ? In this work, François Guillemot, a specialist on contemporary Vietnam, presents a thematic study of a country that is reconciled with its history and the society of which it is composed, between globalised opportunities and natural limits.
