What do we know today about cannabis? What are its properties and uses? How are its markets structured? What public policies have developed around this substance, classified as a narcotic by international law, partaken of by 190 million people the orld over, and now legal in certain countries? What are the results of these early experiments in legalization?
Political scientist Ivana Obradovic is the assistant director of the French Observatory for Drugs and Addictive Tendencies (OFDT), a member of the European Center for Sociology and Political Science (CESSP), and an associate researcher at the Center for Sociological Research on Law and Penal Institutions (CESDIP). Her work focuses on political issues related to drugs in general, especially cannabis, from an international perspective.
