Geopolitics, developed in the last decades of the nineteenth century, is the study of the effects of human and material geography on international politics and relations. This work provides a concise, rigorous introduction to it.
Cédric Tellenne, is a teacher of history, geography and geopolitics in “classes préparatoires” (Higher School preparatory classes). He trains future teachers in the epistemology of history and geography and is a member of various national competition juries. He has contributed to over twenty works on the geopolitics of the modern world including the Dictionnaire de géopolitique et de géoéconomie (Dictionary of geopolitics and geo-economics) (PUF, 2011) and Les 100 Mots de la géopolitique (The hundred words in geopolitics) (PUF, 2017, 4e éd.).
