A short analysis of the numerous methods used to distort competition on an international scale: in this case tax competition.
The subject of this work is the tax competition that countries engage in – and are subjected to – to attract foreign investment from multinational companies.
The author demonstrates how international globalization and the digitalization of the economy reinforce the tax optimization strategies of large multinational enterprises. The OECD is spearheading the fight against detrimental fiscal practices but there remains much to do to in the fight against tax havens through which a considerable amount of capital simply passes through.
