Why is it so complicated to adopt either nationally or internationally? Is adoption really in the interests of the adopted children? This book offers an overview of adoption law and practices and analyses the effects of adoption on the adopted child, particularly, but not only, when the child is adopted by a homosexual individual or couple. It provides details of adoption practices in several countries (France, the United States, China, etc.).
